Product Introduction

HC340LA+Z Galvanized pipe refers to a steel pipe that has been coated with a layer of zinc on its surface. Galvanizing is an economical and effective method used to prevent rust, with approximately half of the world's zinc production being used for this process.


The purpose of galvanized steel pipe is to protect the surface of the steel pipe from corrosion and extend its service life. A layer of metallic zinc is applied to the surface of the steel pipe, resulting in what is known as a galvanized pipe.


HC340LA+Z Galvanized pipe exhibits the following general characteristics:

  1. Surface State: The coating and plating process used in galvanizing results in different surface states for galvanized pipes. These include ordinary spangle, fine spangle, flat spangle, non-spangle, and phosphating surface. German standards also specify surface grades.


  2. Appearance: Galvanized pipes should have a good appearance and should not exhibit any defects that could negatively impact their use. These defects include lack of plating, holes, cracks, excess plating thickness, scratches, chromic acid dirt, white rust, and others.

PROCESSING

Galvanized steel pipes can be categorized into different types based on the galvanizing process and composition. Here are the simplified and professional descriptions of each type:

Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe: This process involves immersing a thin steel pipe into a molten zinc tank, resulting in a layer of zinc adhered to its surface. Continuous galvanizing is commonly used, where coiled steel pipes are continuously immersed in a galvanizing tank. This method produces hot-dip galvanized steel pipes.


  1. Alloyed galvanized steel pipe: Similar to hot-dip galvanizing, this process involves heating the steel pipe to around 500°C immediately after it comes out of the zinc tank. This allows the formation of an alloy film of zinc and iron on the surface. Alloyed galvanized pipes exhibit good paint adhesion and weldability.


  2. Electro-galvanized steel pipe: This type of galvanized steel pipe is manufactured through electroplating, resulting in good processability. However, the coating is thinner compared to hot-dip galvanized pipes, and its corrosion resistance is not as strong.


  3. Single-sided and double-sided galvanized steel pipes: Single-sided galvanized pipes are coated with zinc on only one side. They have better adaptability in terms of welding, painting, anti-rust treatment, and processing. To overcome the limitations of single-sided galvanizing, double-sided differential galvanized pipes are coated with a thin layer of zinc on the other side.


  4. Alloy and composite galvanized steel: These are zinc alloys made by combining zinc with other metals such as aluminum, lead, or even composite materials. Alloy and composite galvanized steel pipes offer excellent anti-rust performance and good coating properties.

HC340LA+Z gi pipe are welded steel pipes with a hot-dip or electroplated zinc layer on the surface. The galvanizing process enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel pipes and prolongs their service life. These pipes have extensive usage. Apart from being used as pipeline pipes for general low-pressure fluids such as water, gas, and oil, they are also employed as oil well pipes and oil pipelines in the petroleum industry, particularly in offshore oil fields. They are also used as oil heaters and condensers in chemical coking equipment, pipes for coolers in coal distillate wash oil exchangers, trestle pipe piles, and support frames for mine tunnels.
