PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
10# steel pipe is a common type of steel pipe material. Its chemical composition includes a carbon (C) content of 0.07~0.14%, silicon (Si) content of 0.17~0.37%, manganese (Mn) content of 0.35~0.65%, sulfur (S) content ≤0.04%, phosphorus (P) content ≤0.035%, chromium (Cr) content ≤0.15%, nickel (Ni) content ≤0.25%, and copper (Cu) content ≤0.25%. 10# steel pipe has good mechanical properties, with a tensile strength (σb) of ≥410MPa, yield strength (σs) of ≥205MPa, elongation (δ5) of ≥25%, reduction of area (ψ) of ≥5%, and hardness: without heat treatment, ≤156HB, with a sample size of 25mm.
The heat treatment specification for 10# steel pipe is normalizing at a temperature of 910℃, followed by air cooling. The metallographic structure consists of ferrite + pearlite. 10# steel pipe can be delivered without heat treatment or with heat treatment (annealing, normalizing, or high-temperature tempering). If heat treatment is required, it should be specified in the contract. Those marked are delivered without heat treatment.
The content of impurity elements such as sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P) is generally controlled below 0.035%. If it is controlled below 0.030%, it is called high-grade high-quality steel, and "A" should be added after the grade, such as 20A. If P is controlled below 0.025% and S is controlled below 0.020%, it is called super high-quality steel, and its grade should be followed by "E" to indicate the difference. For other residual alloy elements brought into the steel by raw materials, such as chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), etc., the content is generally controlled at Cr≤0.25%, Ni≤0.30%, Cu≤0.25%. Some grades have a manganese (Mn) content of 1.40%, which is called manganese steel
